The Top 5 Reasons People have said “No” to Network a Marketing Business.

At some point in your life you have probably been approached by a family member or friend about joining a network marketing company.

I was someone who said “No”, initially..

I had been in retail sales since the age of 16 and enjoined servicing people. I never considered a lifetime at it. In fact, I was defiant about NOT being in sales.

Ironically, I ended up making a living in sales and Network Marketing. I found enjoyment in helping people find the perfect lipstick and also build and grow successful businesses.

2019 Diamond Club Recognition for having team sales volume of over 1 million dollars. What if I never changed my mind about Network Marketing? What if I quit?

These are the top 5 Reasons why people have said “No” to joining my company. It’s never personal. After all I said “No” at first too.

1) “I don’t have time”

This probably doesn’t surprise anyone as you may have said this at one time. Time is definitely a factor in building a home based business. How much time do you think is needed? It may not need as much as you think.

Life is busy. The busiest people are used to juggling many things such as family, work, school and other activities.

2) “I cannot afford it”

Most network marketing companies have a starter fee. This pays for the basic business tools to get started and is tax deductible. There is always a way to offset or earn that fee or work around it. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Be honest and ask about payment options.

In 1994, after saying “No” to Avon, I decided to join but did not have the 20.00 to start. After canceling my appointment to get started 3 times, I finally joined. Who knew that that 20.00 was going to change my life.

3) “I am not a seller”

“I can’t sell anything.” Many people feel like they are bothering people by asking them to purchase something from them. The perception is that no one likes to be “sold” to. With most network marketing companies, as you use the products and like (or dislike) them, your natural conversations about the products are educating and influencing others.

Selling is naturally done all the time through general conversations about what we like and don’t like. How often do you reccommend a restaurant or movie?

4) “Let me ask my husband (spouse)”

I recommend anyone starting a home-based business to consult their spouse and come to an agreement. It’s good to have another set of eyes check out a business opportunity. If this is something that you really want to do, chances are your spouse will be supportive.

What are your business goals and why? Share your ideas with your spouse.

5) “Is that company still around? My auntie sold that and it didn’t work”

With so many opportunities there is a chance that a family member may have tried it. Results vary with each individual. Do your own research on the company. Talk to people who are successful at it. Your belief in a company and your belief in yourself is a big part of your success.

I told my grandmother adamantly that ” I was not selling that old lady stuff”. That was in 1994. It’s been quite a journey, but I’m still here. I would love to tell you more.
